Gentle, yet subtly challenging Hatha-based yoga flows. Thoughtfully and intelligently designed sequences that build strength and flexibility progressively, and at your pace. I use choice-focused trauma-informed language that offers you the ‘grounding gift of choice’. Trauma-informed practices weaved into the sequences invite compassionate, considered, and safe movement, all the while prioritising your autonomy.
Hatha Yoga is an ancient, deeply rooted form of yoga that is thought to have originated around 1000 CE. The practice combines physical postures with breathing techniques, meditation, mudras (Sanskrit for "gestures" or "seals"), and bandhas (Sanskrit for "locks" or "holds" made by engaging specific muscles). Bringing together these core elements allows an individual to connect with their authentic self and, with continued dedication and practice, achieve samadhi (Sanskrit for "spiritual absorption" or "oneness").
B.K.S. Iyengar, a legendary practitioner and teacher, described Hatha Yoga as the "yoga of effort" or the "yoga of will."
The "ha" of Hatha Yoga represents the sun (surya) and "tha" represents the moon (chandra). In yogic philosophy, these two forces represent the inherent dualities of life. On a physiological level, some might say that the duality manifests as the active sympathetic nervous system (the sun) and the restful parasympathetic nervous system (the moon).

With my 200 hr trauma-informed yoga teacher training, I maintain an ethical and inclusive yoga practice that prioritises autonomy and compassion over performance. A comprehensive understanding of anatomy and physiology have primed me to deliver intelligent, adaptive yoga sequences that fit the pose to the person and not the other way round. Delivered by experienced yoga therapists, my training is infused with expert insights grounded in therapeutic and safety-focused practices.
Grounded in trauma-informed principles, my teaching uses choice-focused language that invites you to explore movement at your own pace. Rather than prescribing rigid shapes, I offer variations that encourage individual, progressive development rooted in deep compassion for your body's unique story. Every practice is designed to gently soothe the nervous system, helping you transition out of a busy, active state and into a restful state where genuine integration can happen.
